1. Dax: Christmas market and urban festival

37 km from camping la Jaougotte, Dax doesn’t do things by halves! Every year, the spa town launches its major festivities under the banner“Dax Tellement Noël“. It’s a total transformation of the town center, with animations and illuminations guiding your steps from the Adour to the Fontaine Chaude.

This year, just before the start of the festive season, at the end of November, you can immerse yourself in the creative world of the Dax Christmas market, in the Grange de Meysonnave. Jewelry, decorations, gift ideas and local specialities will fill the stalls!

2. Hossegor: Christmas on the lake

A radical change of scenery. Head for the south coast, 37 km from our vacation rentals! Hossegor retains its elegance, even in a down jacket. Its market is set up in Parc Rosny, between the lake and the stores in the town center.

The atmosphere at this Landes Christmas market is relaxed, with wooden chalets offering decorations, jewelry and local produce. Food-trucks will delight even the greediest among you!

3. Mimizan: a family stopover

Head north via the forest road. Mimizan welcomes you to the village, well sheltered from the sea winds. A “cocoon” atmosphere awaits you, designed with families in mind.

Why choose this Christmas market in the Landes? For the authentic atmosphere, the tombola, the chestnuts and mulled wine, and the many artists and craftspeople exhibiting their work!

4. Vieux-Boucau: the nearby market

It’s right next door! Just 20 km from our accommodation, Vieux-Boucau is close by and friendly.

This year, the town is planning a festive Christmas market in the Landes. For 2 days, between 2 p.m. and midnight, discover the stalls of the exhibitors, with pop/rock music playing in the background. Enjoy winter treats such as mulled wine and raclette sandwiches, and a warm atmosphere on the oceanfront.

The magic continues on December 20 with Santa’s arrival on the lake in a pinasse and his parade in a horse-drawn carriage to the town hall!
