Staying at Camping La Jaougotte means enjoying a prime location in the heart of the Landes, nestled between the ocean, lake, and forest. Here, nature is all around you: the invigorating Atlantic air, the calm waters of Lake Léon, the scent of pine trees… An ideal setting for active holidays or simply unwinding.

Discover the Treasures of Vielle-Saint-Girons

Vielle-Saint-Girons is a true natural paradise, nestled between the Atlantic Ocean, peaceful lakes, and the vast Landes forest. Just 3 km from the campsite, you’ll find the Léon Tourist Office, an ideal starting point to plan your excursions and discover the best local spots.
The region, at the heart of the Côte Landes Nature, offers an incredible diversity of landscapes: majestic dunes, wild beaches, shaded trails, and picturesque villages. Every outing is a new discovery, whether you’re a fan of relaxation, water sports, or local heritage.

Ocean, Lake, and Water Activities

The Landes beaches are renowned for their beauty and waves. You can surf, swim under supervision, or simply enjoy doing nothing on the warm sand. 7 km from the campsite, the wild beach of Lette Blanche captivates with its authenticity and preserved environment – here, no shops, just a lifeguard station and nature as far as the eye can see.
3 km away, Lake Vielle offers an ideal alternative to the ocean: calm waters, boat and windsurf rentals, on-site dining, and a supervised beach from 11 AM to 7 PM.

Bike Rides and Walks

The region is criss-crossed by the Vélodyssée, a cycling itinerary that runs along the Atlantic coast and offers kilometers of safe trails. Contrary to popular belief, the Landes region is not perfectly flat: mountain biking in the forest is full of surprises, with a few climbs in the shade of the pines.
Walking enthusiasts will also find plenty of trails in the heart of the Landes forest. Whether you’re looking for a 30-minute stroll or a longer hike, you’ll enjoy a soothing, unspoilt environment. And don’t forget: the dune is an essential natural barrier between the ocean and the forest. It is protected and fragile – so walking on it is strictly forbidden.

Other Activities and the Landes Lifestyle

The region’s equestrian centers offer horseback rides and introductory courses for all levels. Petanque enthusiasts can take advantage of the many pétanque courts, including the one at the campsite, which is an unmissable meeting place.
And then there’s a typically Landes activity that we invite you to discover: bullage. It’s about rushing essential tasks… and then doing nothing. It’s an art, almost a philosophy, and we recommend that you practice it at least one day during your stay. Practical advice awaits you at reception to help you become a true expert in the field.
