Lake Hossegor
The Hossegor marine lake is one of the most peaceful and pleasant spots for paddleboarding in the Landes region. Connected to the Atlantic Ocean, it evolves with the rhythm of the tides, which has a direct influence on sailing conditions.
The lake is calm, especially at mid- or high tide. From your paddle, you’ll glide past elegant Basque-Landes villas, oyster huts and the lake’s tranquil beaches. The ride is just as enjoyable for beginners as it is for more experienced paddlers!
Paddleboarders’ tip: from your paddleboard, you can observe the birdlife of this marine lake. If you’re lucky, you might even spot a cormorant, an egret or a heron!

The Huchet current
Nicknamed the “Amazon of the Landes”, the Huchet stream links the Etang de Léon to the Atlantic Ocean. Listed as a nature reserve, the river meanders through dense, wild vegetation.
Paddling is an immersive experience: reeds, wetlands, birds and almost total silence. The course is usually taken on the calm parts of the current or on the Etang de Léon. The Huchet current is clearly ideal for a nature outing in the heart of the Landes!

Vieux-Boucau marine lake (Port d’Albret)
The Vieux-Boucau marine lake is also perfect for a safe and accessible paddling session in the Landes . The water is calm and shallow, making it an ideal spot for beginners!
From your board, you can walk around the central island of the lake or along the landscaped banks. The ride offers lovely views of the resort and the Landes forest. At high tide, the water level is optimal for comfortable paddling.

The shores alternate between natural beaches, pine forests and small coves. The lake is also linked to several canals, making it possible to vary paddle routes.
