So, what are the characteristics of this reserve? What should you prepare before your visit? <\/p>\n

An Exceptional Natural Area<\/h2>\n

The \u00c9tang Noir National Nature Reserve is an area of 52 hectares<\/strong>, encompassing the 19.7 hectares of the \u00c9tang Noir itself. It is located just 4 km from the coast. Given its importance in the Landes region, this reserve was classified by the decree of July 2, 1974<\/g>. Furthermore, it is part of the Natura 2000 network.<\/strong> Currently, this protected site is managed by the Syndicat Mixte de Gestion des milieux naturels. <\/p>\n

Diverse flora thrives in the marshy forest. Over 200 varieties have been identified, including willows, round-leaved sundew<\/strong>, royal fern<\/strong>, and sedges<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

As you walk along the boardwalk set up to admire the various landscapes, you can observe some of the many species that thrive in the reserve. Indeed, the European mink<\/g>, the European otter, and the European pond turtle<\/g> have chosen the \u00c9tang Noir reserve as their habitat. Ornithology enthusiasts will also be delighted to discover over a hundred different bird species<\/g> during their visit. Finally, about thirty species of dragonflies have been listed. <\/p>\n

Practical information<\/h2>\n

This nature reserve located in Seignosse is accessible all year round<\/strong>. However, it’s important to know that from July 7 to September 2, excluding July 14, it is mandatory to make a reservation<\/strong> in advance to enjoy a guided tour. Note that you can schedule your visit on Tuesday and Thursday (9:30 AM and 2:00 PM) or Wednesday and Friday (9:30 AM). <\/p>\n

If you are planning this activity with friends or family, note that the maximum number must not exceed 9 visitors<\/strong>. It is important to note that all types of visitors can enjoy this beautiful environment, as guided tours can be presented in French Sign Language<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

To make the most of your visit, make sure to be on site fifteen minutes<\/strong> before the start of the tour. This will give you the opportunity to attend the presentation that precedes the opening of the Welcome Center.
